Reply To: What habits do you create for yourself to improve?

Hey Jess!

Sorry it took me so long to answer. I expected an email whenever someone would react to me, but that apparently doesn’t happen (oops). Reading is a good thing to mention! Coincidentally I JUST finished Big Magic! I might read the Four Agreements next because I really enjoyed the Mastery of Love too.

I also have problems with sticking with just one exercising but right now weightlifting is my THANG. Keeping a strict schedule with that and seeing myself improve at that area just makes me feel like I am keeping this promise to myself 🙂 So working out is really one of the things that I try to keep going, because I noticed that it makes me feel really good. I also try to meditate at home sometimes when I notice that my mood is totally going the wrong way (stressed, angry or sad).

Eating healthy is definitely also one of the things that makes me feel good and that I try to keep as a habit. The idea that you give your body what it needs to function at its best is really fulfilling. Learning a lot about what specific things do for your body helps with making ‘wiser’ choices. (because lets be real, I still crave pizza and Ben an Jerry’s sometimes).

Other than that I try to be more mindful. I try to limit all of the different factors that might influence me (mainly media. I tend to check my phone way too often for example) and I try to focus at the task or activity at hand.
Are there other nice forums you participate in next to this one? I don’t have a lot of likeminded people in my life right now so talking at these forumns really helps 🙂
