Moving Countries

Hi Teresa,
thanks for doing a second series of the Q&A. I loved the first one!
My question: I plan on moving from Germany to New Zealand next year when I have finished my studies. I’d like to get out of my usual surroundings and have the experience of starting my life in a completely new place. What advice do you have for someone starting over in a different country? What was your experience like with making new friends and making this new place feel like your home?
